I am a Reader in Linguistics at Queen Mary University of London. I got my PhD at MIT, and have a BA and MA from Utrecht University. My research looks at contemporary issues in morphology and syntax, with a particular focus on understudied languages. I believe in an approach to theory that seeks to build on an understanding of the mapping between morphosyntactic structure and phonological and prosodic representations.

Some of my current research interests include the mapping from syntax to prosody in Atara Imere (with Adam Chong), the morphosyntax of Tigrinya, and nonconcatenative morphology in Western Nilotic.

I am an Associate Editor for Natural Language & Linguistic Theory.
